Personal Style

The ephemeral nature of immediate surroundings has been a deep fascination since a young age. A wide scale of subjects are approached in a conceptual, multi-layered way. The work directly responds to the surrounding environment and uses everyday experiences from a variety of viewpoints.

Various overlapping topics and strategies are touched upon by emphasizing aesthetics, such as the relationship with popular culture and media, working with repetition, provocation, and the investigation of the process of expectations.Through self exploration and practice of academic principles, a piece goes through an intense artistic journey before reaching presentation. The work sometimes radiates a cold and subtle violence, other times a disconcerting beauty emerges. Moments are depicted that only exist to punctuate the human drama in order to clarify our existence and to find poetic meaning in everyday life. How the viewer is involved allows them to believe in whimsy, the capturing of fleeting moments, and that function can follow form.

By using themes such as balance, beauty, and violence, the viewer is lead into a world of ongoing equilibrium and the interval that articulates the stream of daily events.
